Support is tailored to each individual, but usually starts with a one to one appointment with an enterprising women adviser. This is a friendly, informal meeting, giving you the opportunity to find out more about us, air your idea and at the same time, start to analyse whether self employment is the right path for you.

Appointments can be made any way that suits you. You can call, e-mail, send back the tear off on our leaflet or ask your advisor at another agency to call on your behalf. For a first appointment you have up to an hour in which to meet with an advisor. You will get the chance to find out more about the service and give some background on your idea and the help you are looking for. You needn’t bring anything with you in terms of samples or written ideas, although you can if you wish!

The time can also be used for more practical purposes, for example, structure a plan for carrying out market research, develop a research questionnaire or guidance on completing pre start grant applications.

Appointments are completely flexible, they can be held during the day or early evenings and can take place at our premises or at a mutually convenient location. You can choose how many appointments you need and there’s no pressure on you to start up your business, you decide if and when you are ready.

“The meetings have been really helpful. Even if I haven’t had any specific questions/ needs before going to the meetings, I have always come out feeling positive and having reignited my drive to have a go at really making it work! Thanks”

“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Enterprising Women. It was motivational and I never felt any pressure to come up with the goods. It was wonderful to be given the space to investigate my idea and my advisor was very helpful in this process”
